Lucky Pan 400

I ordered some rolls of this new Lucky Pan 400 film from Reflx Lab back in March, mostly because it was cheap and because I was on a quest to find my favorite black and white film stock. I shot a roll on a quick walk through Zurich then developed it at home. Little did I know that this film:

  • Came in a plastic canister instead of metal, which I don't particularly like.
  • Had an anti halation layer with an intense blue dye that stained my developer.
  • Did not particularly like being developed in Cinestill Df96. There was some gunky residue on the negatives afterwards, which shows up all of the pics here. About half the roll was unusable.

However the rest of the pics came out kind of cool and grungy and artsy, see for yourself:

I never shot another roll and gave the other rolls to Liam. He calls it "sharpie film" because it kind of smells like sharpies.

All shot with an old chinon m42 mount camera with a 50mm.

Stefan Dierauf

Hello, you're either looking at my author page, or the little blurb at the bottom of each post.

My name is Stefan Dierauf and this is my blog. I live in Zürich, Switzerland with my husband Dani. I got into taking pictures with old cameras in 2023, and I'm still not bored of it yet.

I set this up because I wanted to have a place to dump my photos, and to be able to add a bit more context than I can in an instagram post.
